The Olson Farm is a unique 60-acre farmstead located on a sloped, wooded site along the Green River.
Dating from 1897, the Farm is made up of by an intact assembly of seven rural buildings and a site shaped by agriculture, with a rich stream ecology, indigenous salmon run, and wildlife.
BOLA's principals, while at Boyle Wagoner Architects, provided the historic research and building condition assessments as part of a
Master Plan for preservation of the historic property.
The Master Plan included an inventory of historic and existing buildings and
site features; analysis of historic land use patterns,
wagon and vehicle roads, stream path, and wetlands
designation; specific guidelines for building rehabilitation and restoration, site improvements, interpretive plan; designs for a new office, restrooms and education spaces; and preliminary construction and cost estimates.
BOLA has been working with the White River Valley Museum and the City of Auburn since 1999 implementing the Master Plan which includes phased restoration and building stabilization. Most of the phased projects are funded in part by local and State Preservation Grants.
