The City of Roslyn grew rapidly during the early 20th century, and developed as an unusually diverse community, which is still in evidence in the city's social and cultural landscape. During this period of rapid growth, a large, wood framed, miners' social and athletic club -- the present Library and City Council Room -- was constructed. Purchased by the City in 1918, the building is a critical historical component in the Roslyn National Register Historic District. District
