The Wilkinson farm's historic significance is based on the on-site lives of the original farm family: Maria and William T. Wilkinson and their four children, Vivian, Dorothy, Helen and Wilma.  The period of 1900 to 1953 corresponds with the family's acquisition of the farm and the death of the original owners.  This period encompasses the construction of the Barn in 1915, the Farmhouse in 1920, the Holly Shed, Chicken Coop, and Milk House of 1925 - 1935, and most of the domestic flower and vegetable gardens, which date from the 1920s through the 1950s.  It also includes the estimated date of 1925 when the nearby Holly Grove was planted
