The Wilkinson Farm is a 16.3 acre site, presently owned by the City of Gig Harbor, located near the city’s downtown and waterfront area. The property was developed as a dairy and subsistence farm by the Wilkinson family in the early 20th century and occupied by original family members for nearly a century.

The Farm remains a tangible link to Gig Harbor’s agrarian past, and exemplifies the hardy perseverance of one pioneer family. The City anticipates use of the farm for exterior public gathering and education, and as a venue for exhibits, weddings, parties, theater, poetry readings, musical events, reunions, and performances.

The farmyard and adjacent holly grove includes approximately one acre, containing the original family dwelling, dairy barn and work buildings, domestic gardens and plantings. Together they make up the historic Wilkinson Farm.

BOLA’s interdisciplinary team examined the historic features, current conditions, deficiencies of the buildings and structures, and recommended preservation treatments, and designs for future use. Priorities and phased cost estimates for restoration and rehabilitation were developed to aid the City in grant funding requests.
