BOLA is developing a master plan for the urban campus of the Vietnamese Catholic Community, a Seattle-based parish with members residing throughout Western Washington. The scope of work involves planning for infrastructure, site and landscape improvements and preliminary designs for expansion of the existing church and a new mixed-use, multi-story building with retail spaces, language classrooms, offices, and apartment dwellings for parish priests and other residents.
This project is one example of BOLA's interest in community-based design. In this case the building and site designs seek inspiration from traditional Vietnamese architecture, existing site and buildings features, and the client's vision for multi-generational, responsive services.
